Uranus and Jupiter in Taurus Form a Metaplanet Today,

Once every 14 years, Jupiter catches up to Uranus for an exact conjunction, forming a metaplanet, if you will. The conjunction is at 21 degrees Taurus, so wherever that falls in your chart, you’ll feel a union of these two planetary archetypes: the King and the Rebel. If you have any planet at 21 degrees of any sign, odds are this metaplanet is affecting it, but this will be particularly true for the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. The effect will dissipate at the end of May, 2024, but the impact on our culture will be felt a long time.

Where the conjunction emerges for you is an area of life that needs a big, bold breakthrough, something not fully understood in advance. That growth is almost always powered by Uranian technological breakthroughs that allow mankind to level up and grow (Jupiter).

As I was writing this blog, I got news that an aid package had been passed for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan! Now, that is the kind of big, bold breakthrough I was hoping for!

The conjunction was in play in 2010, during the Arab spring. It was a clear example of how the rebels (the everyday people) rose up against oppressive regimes (Jupiter, the power structure), using their cell phones, a product of new technology (Uranus).

While the conjunction happens once every 14 years, hardly a rare event, it has not happened in Taurus since 1941. That was during World War II. The Nazis marched on Stalingrad, a Jupiterian sin of over-extension, and they were defeated by winter (an earth event) as much as by the bloodbath of Russian lives Stalin was willing to sacrifice. It was also the year of Pearl Harbor, also an overextension, that brought the US into the war in both the Pacific and European theaters of war. Eventually, that turned the tide toward Allied victory.

Looking back in history, the conjunction of these two planets has been very dynamic. The French Revolution was led by disgruntled peasants who overthrew the monarchy. The concepts of Liberty, Equality and Freedom are very Uranian concepts. The conjunction was in Leo, sign of Kings.

Around 1900, Sigmund Freud acquainted us with the concept of the “unconscious” as he fathered modern psychoanalytic theory. And at the same time, Max Planck began to explore quantum physics. Both concepts provided big, bold breakthroughs.

Also in 1900, the Wright Brothers began the exploration of flight. Under a subsequent conjunction, Charles Lindbergh made the first solo flight across the Atlantic. And under the conjunction of 1969, the US made the Apollo Moon landing.

1969 saw the Stonewall Riots, beginning the Gay Rights movement, as well as the Women’s March on Washington, DC., on Mothers Day. The women’s slogan was Rights, not Roses! We also had Woodstock that year, a cultural shift for young people. Check out Jessica Davidsons website for more history on this conjunction.

I just finished reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, a native Potawotami woman who is also a scientist in botany. She writes about the shift from exploiting the earth to learning what earth’s inhabitants can teach us. She focuses not on rights, but responsibilities to the earth and its inhabitants. I think such a shift would be a great fit for a Jupiter -Uranus conjunction in Taurus, a sign of the Earth.

This conjunction will manifest at many levels and in many ways this time around. Some good, some not optimal. We are human, after all, and don’t always get it “right.” We may only see the impact best in hindsight, because Uranus, after all, represents a new paradigm. If we could see it, we’d already be manifesting it.
