March Ends With a Bang!

The year of the Wood Snake certainly fits 2025! Skins are being shed as the administration turns our relationships in the world upside down. And this weekend is a milestone in that shift. A New Moon in Aries and a partial Solar Eclipse happen on March 29. On March 30, Neptune leaves Pisces, where it has been for 16 years, and moves into the sign Aries.
This New Moon will be at 9 degrees Aries. The New Moons have been at 9 degrees since last November. Nine is a number completion, so once again, we are reminded that the old is out and the new is emerging. I write mostly about political astrology, but if you can identify the sector of your chart that is being lit up by Pisces-Aries energy, be aware that you are at the end of a cycle concerning the affairs of your Aries house. Something new wants to emerge.
Not that anyone can’t see the rapid change that is overtaking us - but it is interesting that you can see that in the sky, too. As above, so below.
When a New Moon results in an eclipse, change is in the offing. Because it is a solar eclipse, it affects Executive Leadership, or, on a personal level, your identity. Events often occur around this “bending”, but the full effect of the changes due to the Eclipse can take months to a year to mature. It is significant that the Partial Solar Eclipse can be seen from the Northeastern United States, including Washington, D.C. Places where the eclipse is visible are most likely to feel the effects.
We also have Mercury retrograde in Aries and Venus In Pisces (by the weekend) in retrograde. This is a good time for reflection, review and reconsideration, often leading to new perceptions that may have been missed when the planet was direct. It is not so good for brand new initiatives. Venus is retrograde in the same part of the zodiac it occupied 8 years ago, in 2017. That year saw the first Trump administration, the #MeToo movement and more. In politics and in your personal life, issues that surfaced then may surface again.
Aries likes to move forward quickly. The retrogrades and Eclipse may slow things down, frustrating Aries energy.
The most momentous event is Neptune moving out of the sign it has occupied for the last 16 years, Pisces, and entering Aries on March 30. This year is a preview year as Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus will change signs from now through the summer. Then Neptune, Saturn and Uranus beat a retreat back into the signs occupied in 2024…only to begin to move forward more permanently into their new signs again in 2026. And they will stay in the new signs for a while - Neptune for 14 years; Saturn for 3-1/2 years and Uranus for 7 years.
Neptune is the first to make the sign change. Neptune and Aries are not naturally drawn to one another, but a positive way to be a spiritual (Neptune) warrior (Arie). The question is on the table - what will I stand for? Endings? Addiction? Compassion? Creativity? On the lower side of the spectrum, we can have aggressive (Aries) gaslighting (Neptune) or selfish (Aries) addictions (Neptune). We could see, over the 14 years Neptune occupies Aries, an attempt at forced compliance with a religious belief - much like the religious crusades.
I am NOT predicting war, but Aries is a martial energy. Neptune was at this exact point during the American Civil War. 13 hours after Neptune entered Aries, first shots were fired at Fort Sumter. Deeply divided visions for this country were very similar to the present. Southern enslavers had control of the Executive, Legislative and Supreme Court. They wanted to expand the enslavement integral to their fortunes into settlements in the West. The North resisted, fearing that an oligarchy of White enslavers would run everything.
A wrecking ball is dissolving government functions. This administration’s vision of what we stand for is dramatically different from the last one. This is obvious. Realistically, so many of our systems were broken - incarceration, income inequality and health care for instance. Incremental change was not happening quickly enough. What we are witnessing may truly be breaking down to bottom out and then we can arise from the chaos with a new vision. A better vision. It is not guaranteed, but it is possible.
Nothing is guaranteed, but Einstein said everything is impossible until it isn’t. I am telling myself as much as I am telling you, not to compromise what you feel is right and do not give in to fear. Practice self-care, have emergency supplies handy (they can help in a natural disaster or any emergency). But do not forget who you are. We are like drops of water in a bucket. If we maintain our beliefs and keep our vibration high, the collective will benefit.
We chose to be here, (I think we did), so we are ready - maybe just barely ready - to meet the challenges we face as one world ends and another begins.
